MANILA, Philippines - In keeping with its commitment to bring affordable technology closer to Filipinos, budget mobile device manufacturer DTC has officially launched its latest and most affordable Android-based smartphone thus far, the DTC GT5S, or DTC Junior.
A more updated version of the GT5 Astroid Plus released in February this year, DTC Junior is a no-frills device that offers all the essentials of a functional smartphone for less.
The DTC Junior is powered by a 1GHz single core processor, plus 256 MB RAM and 1500mAh battery for fast and smooth processing. It runs on Android Gingerbread 2.3, one of Google’s most stable Android builds.
Wi-Fi-ready, the dual SIM and dual standby handset allows users to stay digitally connected to friends and family on social media platforms and through a variety of messaging applications including Skype and Viber.
While many competing budget phones offer only a VGA front camera, DTC Junior’s is at 1.3 megapixels, thus ensuring a clearer, closer-to-real online chatting experience. The red back panel mounts a two-megapixel rear camera with built-in flash.
Complementing these features are clear audio speakers and a responsive 3.5-inch WVGA screen that delivers outstanding graphic performance and an intuitive user experience.
It also comes with pre-loaded applications, and tons more can be downloaded via Google Playstore. The 3.5-incher can support up to 32 GB of pictures, videos, music and other files using a micro SD card.
Further, the DTC Junior showcases standard Android features such as FM radio, MP3 player, GPRS, and Bluetooth.
Retailing at only P1,998, the DTC Junior is indeed one smart device that offers essential mobile solutions to the practical user, and one that is uniquely positioned in the competitive mobile device landscape.
