MANILA, Philippines - Indonesian subsidiary PT Primer Globalindo (PTPG), a member of the Primer Group of Companies, recently completed a management overhaul which included organization restructuring, the formulation of new company policies and streamlined work procedures and even moving into a new office.
This marks a second “new beginning” for the three-year-old company, which aims to carve a name for itself in the Indonesian retail scene.
Changes within PTPG were made in line with the Primer Group’s regional expansion strategy in its retail business as a premier distributor of outdoor and lifestyle brands, as well as creator of multi-brand concept stores.
By December, the PTPG will be gearing up for the opening of six free standing stores in new malls, which will include Primer concept stores Bratpack and Res|Toe|Run and 11 department store kiosks showcasing Primer brands in Jakarta.
Today, the PTPG distributes 43 brands, compared to the initial two in 2009.
Leading the newly revamped management team is Marvie Samala, a Filipina based in Jakarta.
Samala, a seasoned professional, has gained retail experience in Indonesia and thus provides valuable insight into the local consumer.
With almost 49 employees in both the office and warehouse and up to 117 sales personnel, the PTPG is a growing company. It recently moved into a new office located in the central area of the Indonesian capital, which houses the brand management, marketing and operations departments as well as the human resources and accounting departments.
A new warehouse was also recently acquired in anticipation of incoming shipments and stocks.
The recent developments and changes will enable the revitalized PPTG to strengthen its hold on the Indonesian market and reflects the Primer Group’s commitment to becoming a retail powerhouse in Asia.
