MANILA, Philippines - Convergys Corp., a global leader in relationship management, and the largest private employer in the Philippines, has announced the appointment of Marife Zamora as managing director for the Asia-Pacific, Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) for Convergys’ customer management business.

Previously, Zamora served as the first country manager in the Philippines, and managed Convergys’ burgeoning presence in the country from its first contact center in 2003 to its 17th contact center and 25,000 employees today.

In her new role as managing director, Zamora is responsible for Convergys’ international customer management business, overseeing approximately 37,000 employees throughout contact centers in the United Kingdom, India, and the Philippines.

In this global role, she is responsible for delivering superior service to Convergys clients and their customers, with the goal of growing Convergys’ international business.

“Our global clients want a greater Convergys presence in the international market, and accomplished professionals like Marife have helped us expand our network of state-of-the-art contact centers worldwide to meet that demand,” said Christine Timmins Barry, Convergys’ senior vice president for operations.

“Marife managed the spectacular growth we have experienced in the Philippines and the additional responsibilities we announce today are a true reflection of both Marife’s success in the Philippines and our belief in her ability to replicate that success internationally,” added Barry.
