MANILA, Philippines - AgfaPhoto announced recently its official launch of the company’s 2011 global spring/summer digital camera offerings at a press event at Rockwell Club in Makati City.
Hosted by RedDot Imaging Philippines, the exclusive national distributor of AgfaPhoto digital cameras and camcorders in the Philippines, the event presented the AgfaPhoto Imaging Ecosystem concept and showcased the camera lineup and bundled productivity software.
The six new cameras include three new point-and-shoots, two “bridge” models, and a high-definition ruggedized HD camcorder.
All cameras are bundled with productivity software from ArcSoft for media management and all but the entry-level model Precisa 1430 allow users to easily convert their images and videos into 3D and view them with the included 3D glasses.
“The AgfaPhoto brand has traditionally enjoyed strong recognition and loyalty in the Philippines,” said Andreas Selmeczi, managing director of AgfaPhoto Holding GmbH.
“It seemed fitting to maintain that tradition by introducing these new products here,” he added.
Rene Buhay, president of RedDot Imaging (USA), the authorized licensee of AgfaPhoto for the Americas, Middle East and Southeast Asia, presented the AgfaPhoto Imaging Ecosystem “capture-view-store-share” concept.
“I am excited to launch in Manila as this is the take-off point for AgfaPhoto’s expansion into Southeast Asian markets,” Buhay said.
All AgfaPhoto cameras offer features which include embedded technologies such as face, smile and blink detection, panoramic stitching and red-eye removal as well as auto scene detection, image stabilization and auto brightness LCD at competitive price-points.
For starters, the entry-level 14-megapixel 3x optical zoom Precisa 1430 retails for P2,995.
There will be two models under the Optima series: Optima 145 and 147. Both models feature 14-megapixel resolution and lithium batteries, 5x and 7x optical zoom, respectively, and sell for P4,995 and P5,995.
The Selecta 14 and 16 models offer bridge camera features with high 14- and 16-megapixel capabilities coupled with a powerful 15x optical zoom with Optical Image stabilization feature at retail prices of P8,995 and P9,995, respectively.
A shockproof (up to a five-foot drop) and waterproof (up to a depth of 16 feet) compact full-high-definition (Full-HD) 1080p camcorder with built-in USB, the eClipse Explorer finishes off the line touting image stabilization and HDMI output at an amazingly low P5,995.
