MANILA, Philippines - Toshiba’s Computer Systems Division (CSD), a division of Toshiba Singapore Pte Ltd, through its Philippine distributor Tricom Dynamics Inc., introduced recently its new Slim series of PORTÉGÉ Notebook PCs.
Toshiba’s new class of consumer ultra-thin notebook PCs boast Notebook-class performance and an amazing battery life that will last up to 11 hours or over one working day.
Measuring less than one inch thin at its slimmest point and weighing as little as 1.58kg, the ultra-thin PORTÉGÉ series does not cut corners on features or performance.
With Windows 7, power-efficient Intel ultra-low voltage processors, and hard drive protection with 3D motion sensors, Toshiba’s ultra-thin Slim series have the performance, flexibility and functionality that consumers have come to expect from standard-sized notebook PCs, yet in a highly portable package.
“With this new PORTÉGÉ series, we are offering savvy customers portability and performance at an affordable price, with the addition of these two new slim yet affordable models to our range,” said Wong Wai Meng, senior product marketing manager for Toshiba’s Computer Systems Division.
“These ultra-slim Notebook PCs bridge the gap between netbooks, which are optimized for portability and content consumption, and full performance, regular-sized notebook PCs,” she added.
The new Slim series will be available in two screen sizes and various color options. The PORTÉGÉ T130 features a 13.3-inch Clear SuperView 16:9 widescreen display and will be available with Toshiba’s Fusion Finish in Glossy Precious Black, Glossy Iron Red, and Glossy Pearl White.
The PORTÉGÉ T110 offers an 11.6-inch Clear SuperView 16:9 widescreen display and will be available with Toshiba’s Fusion Finish in Glossy Precious Black and Glossy Iron Red.
Designed to be stylish both in and out, Toshiba’s Fusion Finish design extends inside the Notebook PC, around the keyboard, touch pad and the display.
The PORTÉGÉ Notebook PCs feature full-sized keyboards and full-sized Multi Touch Pads with Gesture Control, enabling greater flexibility to browse and control what’s happening onscreen with intuitive gesture commands.
Running on Windows 7 and boasting ultra-fast DDR3 memory and lots of expansion ports including HDMI-out, the new Slim series of PORTÉGÉ Notebook PCs have the power and speed to handle the day’s tasks or evening’s entertainment. They also have built-in wireless LAN and Bluetooth.
The PORTÉGÉ Notebook PCs also include a three-axis monitoring system for the Hard Drive Impact Sensor that helps guard data from the daily bumps of mobile life and a USB port with Sleep-and-Charge technology, which enables users to charge various consumer electronics, even when the notebook is turned off.
A built-in webcam with SmartFace Face Recognition makes logging in hassle-free and live chat possible from anywhere.
These new Slim series of PORTÉGÉ Notebook PCs are designed to be environmentally conscious with a power-efficient, mercury-free LED backlit display and are RoHS compatible, effectively reducing the environmental impact by restricting the use of lead, mercury, cadmium and certain other hazardous substances.
The PORTÉGÉ Notebook PCs meet the rigorous requirements of the EnergyStar 5.0 standard, with the PORTÉGÉ T130 also achieving industry-leading Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool (EPEAT) Gold status.
Additionally the Toshiba Power Saving Eco utility helps to reduce power consumption, and makes users aware of the power their Notebook PC is consuming.
