Ignorance is not an Excuse Anymore

MobileGroup, Inc. (MGI) recently launched "Newsboy", an innovative mobile application that allows users to easily read the day's news on their cell phones anytime and anywhere. It has an easy-to-use interface that even non-techies can quickly assimilate into their daily routine. Users can even keep a file of all the interesting articles by using the "Save" function.

MGI forged partnerships with Philstar.com and other major newspapers to ensure that readers will get their news, when and where they want them. Initially available to Smart subscribers, the application can be downloaded by visiting the Smart WAP site (wap.smart.com.ph) and opening the Newsboy link under the "What's New" category. Once it is installed, users can simply click on the Newsboy icon to run the application.

On the main page, users can click on their preferred news partner and browse the day's headlines for free. Clicking on a specific headline will display the full article which costs only P2.50 per download.

Newsboy runs on most Java MIDP 2.0 compliant phones. It has been tested on a wide variety of phone models from different manufacturers such as Nokia, Motorola, O2, Sony Ericsson and Samsung.
