AMA studes pass MCP assessment exam with flying colors

To be considered a certified Microsoft expert, one must go through a rigid process that entails constant skills training. Microsoft, the leading software giant, is making sure that only qualified and proficient individuals get the distinction of being Microsoft Certified Professionals (MCPs).

In relation to this, AMA Computer University proved once again that it is the country’s foremost information technology educational institution when its students recently passed the MCP assessment exam with flying colors and possibly got the highest passing rate among schools implementing the program.

This year alone, AMA produced 41 MCPs and got a 95 percent passing rate, probably the highest among Philippine schools delivering Microsoft-based training and certification exams, said Arnel Hibo, AMA Education System (AMAES) first vice president for academic affairs and global education services.

AMA credits the success of its MCP program to the collaboration of its various departments such as the academic affairs and global education services headed by Hibo and operations led by Dr. Patrick Alain Azanza, senior vice president.

"The MCP program elevates the expertise and the skills of our students to a whole new level. It gives them undue advantage over other IT professionals with a certificate that comes from the world’s leading software developer and owned by the world’s foremost IT guru, Bill Gates," Azanza said.

The MCP program has been integrated into AMA’s IT curriculum since 2002. Students undergo assessment exams to benchmark their success/passing rate before taking the actual online exam.

AMAES, founded by Amable Aguiluz V, considered the "father of computer education" in the country, is also a Pearson VUE authorized testing center with six such centers nationwide.

Recently, it launched the AMA Learn and Earn program where students can earn cash or educational scholarships and have the opportunity to be hired full-time after graduation by PlayForum, the No. 1 online gaming community and game management firm in Korea.
