MANILA, Philippines - The C-Network recently facilitated the signing of a memorandum of agreement between pharmaceutical partner Roche and ICanServe Foundation to support Silver Linings 2011 to be held in Davao City on Sept. 17.
Silver Linings is a national homecoming and educational forum for breast cancer survivors, their families, and supporters.
Roche and the C-Network have also actively supported the successful salvos of Silver Linings in Manila (2005) and Cebu City (2008).
The event draws at least a thousand participants nationwide and unites different groups of breast cancer patients in the country.
The event provides a venue for breast cancer survivors to share hope collectively with cancer patients.
For Silver Linings 2011, Roche will sponsor a lecture discussing young women and breast cancer, as well as an overview of breast cancer preventive measures and recommended screenings for women of different ages.
The special guest speaker will be Dr. Gay Lapus, vice president of the Philippine Society of Medical Oncology (PSMO).
Interested parties may register online through the ICanServe website www.icanservefoundation.org.
The participants may choose to listen to 15 topics from different speakers during the event.
Since its launch in 2004, the C-Network has become an active partner of different anti-cancer groups like the PSMO, Philippine Society of Oncology, Department of Health, Philippine Cancer Society PCS, and Roche.
