Jardine’s pest solutions fight dengue in schools

MANILA, Philippines - Jardine Distribution Inc. (JDI), a leading distribution and marketing company known for its quality brands such as Solignum Wood Preservative, recently partnered with local schools to fight dengue by donating its quality multi-insect aerosol insecticide – Zap, to selected schools in Cebu.

According to the World Health Organization, about 77,000 dengue cases were reported in the Philippines so far this year and 306 of these were fatal. Based on the same report, the number of dengue cases is still higher than other countries in the Asia Pacific region.  Thus, the need to stay vigilant against this deadly disease remains.

“We decided to donate ZAP, our quality multi-insect aerosol insecticide, to schools because we believe that the young ones are more vulnerable to dengue.  By donating our products, and educating teachers on the importance of keeping the environment dry and clean, we are doing our share in reducing dengue cases in the country,” said Abet Arieta, JDI area manager in Cebu.

ZAP aerosol insecticide comes in three variants — multi-insect, cockroach and mosquito killers.  Aside from ZAP multi-insect aerosol insecticide, JDI’s Home Pest Solutions also offer Optigard, a cockroach and ant bait product that comes in a ready-to-use syringe; and Klerat, a rodenticide that kills both rats and mice in single feed. These products are now available in selected supermarkets, pharmacies, DIY stores and hardware stores in Cebu.
