First certified Eco-Spa in the Philippines unveiled

BORACAY, Philippines – While the tourism industry contributes much to the Philippine economy, it also contributes significantly to climate change and global warming. This motivates the award-winning Mandala Spa and Villas in Boracay to pursue environmentally friendly practices while continually improving the quality of its services. As testament to its commitment to the environment & quality service, it acquired third-party certifications from TÜV Rheinland, the pioneering certification body in the Philippines, in compliance with the international standards in Eco-Tourism and Service Quality.

TÜV Rheinland’s Eco-Hotel certification is based on international standards, such as Environmental Management System, Occupational Health and Safety and Corporate Social Responsibility, and follows the concept of the 3Rs (Reuse, Reduce and Recycle), while the Service Quality certification confirms the company’s commitment to service excellence and helps analyze and improve the service chain, identifying crucial elements with the service of delivery process.

This achievement recognizes Mandala Spa and Villas as the first certified Eco-Spa in the Philippines, which is further validated by winning the most prestigious ASEAN Green Hotel and the World Travel Award, making it one of the country’s leading resorts.
