APO Realwood floors are eco-friendly

MANILA, Philippines - APO Realwood floors are real wood, not an imitation wood product. And these are ecology-friendly wood products too.

Made from Philippine Rosewood, APO Realwood products are sourced from a permanent forest in Surigao. In this eco-system, trees are selectively cut and replanted to ensure that the forest is maintained. Because of this practice,  this forest management project was cited as a “model for sustainable development”  by the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO) and “Best Practice in Forest Management” by the UP College of Forestry and Natural Resources.

Justin C. Mercado, marketing manager of Puyat Flooring Products Inc (PFPI) is proud of their premium wood product. “ Every APO Realwood plank is an embodiment of our cause against forest denudation and deforestation. It represents our contribution to environment protection.”

During the recent Manilacon 2009 construction show at the SMX Convention Center, APO Realwood was one of the products prominently used in the Eco-House, an environment-friendly model house showcased during the exhibit.

Made by Puyat Flooring Products Inc. APO Realwood planks go through stringent quality tests to ensure that only the highest quality products are delivered to customers. They are tested for Indentation, Abrasion, Dimensional Stability and Resistance to Household Chemicals. APO Realwood floors meet the American Standards for Testing Materials (ASTM) and British Standards (BS).

What makes APO Realwood better than other wood products is its manufacturing process. Each plank is composed of seven-ply cross-grained layers of kiln-dried wood, giving it greater dimensional stability.

Since APO Realwood is factory-finished, it comes ready-to-install. This means you don’t have to bother with messy sanding and long preparation. Its tongue and groove design makes installation a snap.
