1. Always have the proper termiticide in place. Whether you’re just moving in to your newly-built home or maintaining the one that you have lived in since your childhood, it is always highly advisable to have the proper termiticide in place. Premise 200 SC not only offers one of the best protections against termite infestations; it also provides the safest for your home and family as it contains the new active ingredient called imidacloprid. It is a non-repellant ingredient that termites cannot see, smell or taste so that they cannot avoid ingesting it.
2. Check for wall cracks. Termites need only 1/64th of an inch to enter and start a full-blown infestation. They create tunnels from their home in the soil in constant search for wood to eat. Once they find cracks and crevices inside the home, they will bore into it or, worse, create pencil-sized mud tunnels from ground levels to where a structure’s wood frame begins. If you have observed such a problem occurring in your home, it is best to call in professional help immediately.
3. Repair damaged pipes and sewer lines. Termites love moist areas and tiny cracks in the sewage system may provide them openings for a full-blown infestation. If such an event does occur, it is best to have a safe organic solvents applied so that no undue damage to the pipes and sewer lines will occur. Premise 200 SC, for example, is a water-based product that does not contain solvents that may destroy them. And rather than being applied onto wooden structures, it is injected directly into the soil. This allows for good dispersion, while at the same time ensuring that the chemical remains in place to control termites.
