Meeting the need for bigger space and more at Ferndale Homes

Alvin and Angie Lee simply longed for a bigger place for their family. As their modest-sized townhouse residence becomes too cramped for comfort, they knew it was time to move to a new home.

Angie relates, "we felt the urgency to find a bigger place so we started looking for prospect." Her brother suggested the residential community where he lives but she found it still having little space to offer. They checked out other places but they too did not meet their need for space.

The search was over when she came across Ferndale Homes in a newspaper advertisement. "I had no idea where it is exactly. Good thing I knew an agent for Ferndale and she offered to give us a tour. When we saw it, we liked it right away."

Choosing that perfect spot to build their new home was just as challenging for the couple. They were among the early birds at the Ferndale open house. "We arrived at eight in the morning so we were among those to survey the prime lots," revealed Alvin. They sought guidance from Feng Shui expert Charlie Chou in choosing a location and the overall design concept.

The planning involved careful details by a highly recommended architect that proved satisfactory for the Lees especially in capturing the Mediterranean look that is required at Ferndale. "It took us about a month and a half to finalize the design because some adjustments we made had to be approved by the village association. But it was worth it. We wanted space for everything and we finally got it," reveals Alvin.
