MANILA, Philippines - The New Zapote “Trumpet Interchange†located at the junction of R1 (Aguinaldo Boulevard) and R1 Extension (Zapote to Kawit) is now fully operational and ready for use by the motoring public. The interchange is the main access to and from R1 segment and the towns of Bacoor and Las Pinas going to Paranaque City, Kawit and further to Southern Tagalog areas like Tagaytay and Batangas.
“We are very pleased that this segment of Cavitex is now fully operational for the motoring public. We have met some challenges while completing this project, but we have managed to meet our deadline and is now accessible to motorists bound for the southwest of Metro Manila,†Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation President and Chief Executive Officer J. Luigi L. Bautista said. “Our motorists who will be using Cavitex during the Holy Week will experience safe, smooth and unobstructed travel,†Bautista further commented.
The Zapote Interchange provides three off-ramp lanes from Cavitex to Bacoor, one lane on-ramp from Bacoor to Kawit, two lanes on-ramp from Bacoor to Paranaque City and two lanes off-ramp from Kawit to Bacoor.
Meantime, another improvement project, the ongoing Cavitex R1 (NAIA Road to Zapote Interchange) Resurfacing is on schedule and will be completed before the start of the 2014-2015 school year. The project, which costs approximately P102M, is aimed at rehabilitating the entire stretch of R1 with overlay using stone mastic asphalt.
