MANILA, Philippines - Mitsubishi Motors Phils. Corp. (MMPC) recently extended its Industry Immersion Program to Mindanao University of Science and Technology and Surigao State College of Technology. The signing of the Memorandum of Agreement was held at the MMPC head office in Cainta, Rizal. Present were MMPC Executives Taizo Furuhashi, Executive Vice President; Orlando F. Alvarez, Jr., SVP Marketing and Treasury; Dante C. Santos, FVP Sales and Marketing; Angeles Trinidad FVP, Marketing; Fast Autoworld Phils. Corp.’s Carlo Magno, officials from beneficiary schools headed by Dr. Consoncio Namoco, Jr., Dean of College of Industrial and Information Technology, Mindanao University of Science and Technology, and Dr. Gloria Gemparo and Robert Laid of Surigao State College of Technology.
Launched in 2009, the Industry Immersion Program was created with the objectives of enhancing and upgrading the skills and competencies of both automotive technology faculties and students. Under the Industry Immersion Program, MMPC in partnership with its dealer Fast Autoworld Philippines Corp. will provide training and facilities on various specialization which includes automotive electrical and electronics, electronic fuel injection system, engine overhauling and performance testing, automatic transmission and powertrain among others. The Industry Immersion Program will also prepare students to be skilled technicians or service advisors. Several possible service oriented careers await the students once they finish the program.
