Setting a new standard: ACC launches new BMW 7 Series

MANILA, Philippines - The buzz had been around for months. BMW, makers of some of the most sought after luxury vehicles throughout the world, had reportedly put together what may be one of the finest flagship models ever made – and it was just a matter of time before the car was to arrive on Philippine shores. Well, the wait is finally over. Last August 26, Asian Carmakers Corporation (ACC), exclusive distributor of BMW vehicles and motorcycles in the country, unveiled to the media and to their business partners, the new BMW 7 Series Luxury Saloon.

“The BMW 7 Series is our flagship model and we are very much pleased to offer this to the discerning Philippine market. With the introduction of the new BMW 7 Series, ACC intends to further strengthen its market leadership in the premium market segment,” said a very proud Jose Ch. Alvarez, Chairman of ACC.

The fifth generation 7 Series features all new designs in its drivetrain, chassis, safety systems, driver assistance and comfort features. And, boasting an all-new interior, ACC officials are confident that it will set new standards where driving and riding luxury benchmarks are concerned.

The in-car entertainment package, for one, is arguably best in class. The entertainment systems available on the rear seats of the new 7 Series features two TV screens integrated in the front seat backrests and allowing individual use on each side, two headsets and two AUX-in ports as well as a DVD player all included in the entertainment package. Add to this a wide range of lightweight features – including the doors, roof, engine compartment lid, side panels and the engine crankcase made of aluminum – and you have a highly efficient and agile car. And, with the complete alphabet of safety features inherent in practically any BMW, The new 7 Series guarantees maximum occupant safety in all conceivable types of collisions.

The high-performance and efficient engines as well as the suspension technology of the new BMW 7 Series are both quite unique in the luxury saloon segment. The BMW flagship will be initially available in two engine variants – the 750Li and the 740Li. Both power units offer the highest standard of efficiency in their respective class and comply in full with EU 5 emission standards. The new BMW 7 Series comes standard with Dynamic Damper Control including Dynamic Driving Control operated by the touch of a button on the centre console. The new BMW 7 Series also introduces the new generation (and decidedly more user-friendly) iDrive control system.

The new BMW 7 Series was made available at authorized BMW dealers the day after the grand reveal. You can now view the all-new BMW 7 Series at these authorized dealerships and either drool if you can’t afford it or put your money where your mouth is if you can. (Luxury doesn’t come cheap – the 740Li retails at P9.7M and the 750Li at P10.7M) If you’re among the latter…darn it, we envy you!
