An indication of readiness

R.G. MANABAT & CO. (RGM&CO.), the Philippine member firm of KPMG International, recently hosted a luncheon for Australian Ambassador to the Philippines, H.E. Bill Tweddell at the Tower Club in Makati City. In attendance were members of the Australian business community in the Philip- pines and RGM&Co. executives led by chairman and CEO Roberto Manabat. RGM&Co. is a full professional services firm that offers audit, tax and financial/ business advisory. During the luncheon, vice chairman and head of Tax, chief operating officer Emmanuel Bonoan introduced KPMG’s Thought Leadership publication entitled 2015 Change Readiness Index, a report which evaluates the ability of 127 countries to prepare for, manage and respond to change. He cited the Philippines’ strong performance in the survey report where it ranks first in the lower-middle income nations and 33rd in the overall index, above high- income countries such as Spain and Italy. Now, that’s a piece of good news!

Of bonds and blessings

Rene Puno, The brilliant legal mind sought after by big corporations, was again the recipient of a dinner given by several of his corporate friends as well as his clients from the banking and industrial sectors of the country. In the well-attended affair held at the Main Ballroom of The Bellevue Manila in Alabang were family and friends joined together to celebrate friendships that spanned several decades. What a great tribute to a man who spent a good deal of his youth helping heads of business, classmates and friends. That is Rene Puno!
