The timeless beauty of Manila Bay at sundown was the subject of a photography contest launched by Anchor Land Holdings, Inc. to promote their ambitious venture the Admiral Baysuites and the Admiral Boutique Hotel. The luxury real estate developer led by its vice chairman and CEO Steve Li launched the “Iconic Impressions: The Manila Bay Photography Contest” to promote the heritage of the City of Manila. Anchor Land president Elizabeth “Beth” Ventura said the event provided “a glimpse of what our Admiral developments, the city of Manila and the Manila Bay have to offer—these priceless views and the experiences depicted in these photographs are what our future hotel guests and unit residents will personally get to enjoy.” Anchor Land is redeveloping the historic Admiral Hotel on Roxas Boulevard into the first five-star boutique hotel in the country in partnership with France-based, leading hotel operator Accor. A luxurious 53-storey residential condominium being built adjacent to the legendary hotel also guarantees an unobstructed view of the fabled Manila Bay sunset. The awards night and the official presentation of 16

photos — the best of over 250 entries received from professional lensmen and photography enthusiasts — was held over cocktails at the Boracay function room of Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila. A three-man panel of judges comprised of fashion designer Frederick Peralta, design consultant and urban planner Paulo Alcazaren and landscape photographer Edwin Martinez decided on the final winners. Several personalities also shared vignettes of Old Manila and the lifestyle of that glorious decade at the affair which carried a fusion of Filipiniana and 1920s America as the theme.

The images on exhibit all captivated moments to treasure in the city of Manila and, as the song goes, there is simply no place in the world like it!
