The Canadian goodness hits Cebu!

Food aficionados from the Queen City of the South had the time of their lives, relishing a myriad of flavors during the launching of Culinary Canada at the hotel lobby of the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu (MPPC), the only 5-star hotel in Cebu City. Gracious MPPC resident manager Julie Najar and honorary consul of Canada, Robert Lee led the well-attended affair. Guests were feted to a bountiful feast of the freshest and finest Canadian-style seafood dishes prepared by topnotch MPPC executive chef Luke Gagnon and senior sous chef Juanito Abangan, Jr. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the enticing buffet of authentic Canadian oyster, crab, fish, shellfish and other appetizing specialties that were served by the hotel’s efficient team. When it comes in showcasing the unique flavors of different countries, Marco Polo Plaza Cebu does it best! Bravo to the brilliant general manager Hans Hauri for this outstanding event! Till the next culinary journey!

Women who matter

The Outstanding Women of the Nation’s Service (TOWNS) had a lively reunion recently at Tosca, the Italian restaurant of the luxurious Dusit Thani Manila. The get-together for members of the 37-year-old organization was spearheaded by TOWNS director and Philippine Hoteliers, Inc. president and vice chairman Evelyn Singson. Dusit Thani Manila’s executive chef Christian Werdenberg prepared a lavish buffet spread for the dynamic women which included former senator Leticia Shahani, four-time world bowling champion Bong Coo, Philippine Export Zone Authority director, lawyer Lilia de Lima and GMA Kapuso Foundation executive vice president and chief operating officer Mel Tiangco, among others. More power to the TOWNS Foundation and the women who make a difference!
