Filipino Pizza woman founder awarded best in Business Excellence

MANILA, Philippines - What started as a small food cart at the heart of Mendiola during the late 80s, a Filipino owned Pizza chain continuously conquers every corner of the nation as a giant and widely distributed franchise system. From its small beginnings to its franchise expansion, Lots’ A Pizza owes its growth to a passion turned into success by a woman dedicated to business excellence.

Co-founder, president and treasurer of the Lots’ A Pizza franchise system, Teresita Ngan-Tian, is the woman behind the multimillion-peso business and recipe of Lots’ A Pizza. Combining her distinct pizza recipe with business expertise, she successfully kept a flourishing enterprise in this male-dominated industry.

In conjunction to the International Women’s Month, BPI Family Savings Bank joined Go Negosyo in awarding 20 inspiring women entrepreneurs for their exceptional achievements in business during the “Go Negosyo Women Entrepreneurship Summit and Expo: Babae Kapuso Ka Ng Bayan” held at the World Trade Center. Recognizing her achievements in the business, BPI Family cited Ngan Tian as its 2011 Business Excellence awardee during the event.

“BPI Family believes that Lots’ A Pizza’s commitment to provide excellent service and food for every Filipino draws from the exemplary woman behind it. Her success story can definitely spur a sense of excellence among small and even large businesses in the country. We, at BPI Family, honor her and all the other women entrepreneurs for their entrepreneurial and leadership gifts that impart inspiration to all aspiring and leading Negosyantes today,” says Jose Teodoro “TG” Limcaoco, president, BPI Family Savings Bank.

Like fairytale stories, behind Lots’ A Pizza is a romantic history. Teresita once gave up her promising career at one of the country’s leading auditing firms all for the sake of love for her husband who was also nurturing a career at the same firm. After resigning from her job, Teresita pursued her real calling - entrepreneurship.

Together with her husband, Eduardo, Teresita ventured into their first major business by selling to-go snacks through their three food stalls in Mendiola. After some time, the couple added Teresita’s pizza recipe as filler to their menu. This step turned a success and inspired the couple to open the first Lots’ A Pizza outlet in Mendiola.
