The Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines (FINEX) spearheaded by president Greg Navarro, recently launched the “Empower 8 Million,” a voter’s education project and “Understanding the National Budget” program. Hosted by the New World Hotel led by general manager Farid Schoucair, the event was made possible by co-chairs of the National Affairs Committee Sherisa Nuesa and Grace Palma-Tiongco. Mark Yu acted as the subcommittee chair for the Voter’s Education program while FINEX past president Santi Dumlao served as the subcommittee chair on the budget magazine project. Russian Ballet in Manila

The Society for Cultural Enrichment Inc. (SCEI) and Ballet Manila will be treating ballet enthusiasts to a one night performance of the Russian Ballet Stars at the Aliw Theater on July 10. SCEI president Gerry Contreras, Ballet Manila’s Lisa Macuja-Elizalde and SCEI vice president Helen Ong will be working with Artern Yachmennikov and Nadejda Gonchar who are soloists and principals of Bolshoi, Marinsky and Ukrainian ballet companies.
