BPO firm ePerformax creates e-Fund: Swift action assured for future employee emergencies

MANILA, Philippines - Following a heartwarming company-wide relief and rebuild outreach to employees ravaged by Typhoon Ondoy, BPO and contact center ePerformax has established a permanent mechanism to enable swift assistance to employees in future emergencies.

The Red & Black eFund, which stands for “Employee Fund” was developed as part of the company’s commitment to its caring, family oriented culture and desire to provide its employees with assistance in times of need.

ePerformax president and CEO Teresa Hartsaw said that last year, employee assistance came in two phases: Operation Helping Hand was the first phase which provided immediate relief. Next came Operation Rebuild which extended that assistance further to help employees rebuild their lives and their homes.

Both efforts raised over P1.2 million and ePerformax team member volunteers have distributed food, medical packages, clothes, household appliances, furniture and financial assistance for minor/major home repairs and other special requirements from infant formula to geriatric needs.

These two efforts not only highlighted the need for the company to have an organized effort, but also created a tighter bond among staff members as they, along with clients and officers, organized a massive effort to help those badly affected.

Through these efforts and the focus of the company on its employees, ePerformax has created the Red & Black eFund. The goal of the eFund is to have an organized and centralized body for collecting and distributing funds for the welfare and support of its team members and their families. The Red & Black eFund is going to be managed by a committee of employee representatives who have a strong presence within their group or department and a deep commitment to the company’s core values and culture of family and caring.

The first fundraiser of the eFund was conducted during the holidays. Dubbed Operation: Helping HAM, employees donated the value of the ham the company normally gives them for Christmas to the eFund to continue giving help to typhoon-affected employees needed further assistance. ePerformax executives matched the donations from the employees.

They continually demonstrate though donations of time and money their desire to help fellow employees facing serious personal situations. We could not support the Red & Black eFund without their participation. I am proud to be part of a culture and a company that truly cares about its employees,” said Hartsaw.
