A large top-level delegation from the CEO Clubs Worldwide is coming to Manila to launch the organization’s chapter in the Philippines, welcome its founding officers and members, and explore investment opportunities.
“The launch makes CEO Clubs Philippines their first and only chapter, so far, in Southeast Asia,” said Filipino-American business leader Susan Barlin, newly-appointed special envoy of the Department of Tourism (DOT) for investments and tourism promotion.
“This DOT-supported event, which will be held at the Manila Peninsula Hotel on August 27, marks the CEO Clubs first-ever official visit to the Philippines, where they intend to learn about the business environment and do business with their Filipino counterparts,” Barlin explained.
Led by its founder and president Joe Mancuso, the delegation will include CEO Clubs officers and members from various chapters around the world. Mancuso is also the founder of non-profit Center for Entrepreneurial Management Inc. and the CEO Clubs Worldwide’s Presidential Advisory Council, which provides technical assistance to members for their investment projects anywhere in the world.
“He (Mancuso) has also written 24 leading books on small business and entrepreneurship, which have sold nearly two million copies,” Barlin pointed out.
Dubbed as “The Millionaires’ Club”, CEO Clubs Worldwide has over 10,000 members in the US, China, Korea, Japan, India, Pakistan and the Middle East, including big investors in Dubai.
“Members of CEO Clubs run their own businesses, whether public, private or family-owned, with an average $20 million annual sales. And joining them as special guest in the launch of CEO Club Philippines is Sam Dhir, the Washington-based US director for international trade,” Barlin said.
Membership is by invitation only such that those invited to the launch of CEO Club Philippines are already qualified to become members and get elected as officers.
This local chapter will enable members to access the vast global resources, talents and expertise of their foreign counterparts in CEO Clubs around the world.
Members of CEO Club-Philippines automatically become members of the CEO Clubs USA, UK, China and Middle East. Soon to be launched are CEO Clubs in Vietnam, Thailand and Mexico. More information can be obtained from www.ceoclubphilippines.com and www.ceoclubs.org.
Barlin initiated the setting up of CEO Club - Philippines during the World CEO Forum last March.
While the launching will be held on August 27, the visiting CEO Club members will be in Manila from August 26 to 30. Being planned to form part of their program of activities are a so-called “Philippine Economic & Investment Forum” and site tours of the country’s special economic zones and commercial business districts in Cebu and Makati.
The setting up of CEO Club-Philippines is also supported by the Philippine Export Zone Authority, Department of Trade and Industry, and local government units.
