MANILA, Philippines - In the program’s biggest gathering of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) children, Pru Life UK – in collaboration with the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Welfare Office 3 – taught money-smart values to over 600 elementary school students in Olongapo, Zambales through the insurer’s Cha-Ching Financial Literacy for the Youth Program. Students from Olongapo Wesley School, Columban College, and St. Joseph College gathered at the Olongapo City Convention Center to participate in the two-day Cha-Ching World Tour. The event not only instilled in them the money-smart values of earning, saving, smart spending, and donating through fun games and activities, but it also helped them better understand the value of money their OFW parents worked hard for. Pru Life UK has done seven legs of World Tour events, allowing Cha-Ching to reach over 2,500 OFW kids to date. Pru Life UK’s flagship corporate social responsibility program, Cha-Ching is the first multi-country, multi-platform program that aims to help parents in Asia teach children basic money management skills to children aged seven to 12. It was launched in Hong Kong in 2011 by Prudential Corp. Asia, the regional headquarters of Pru Life UK.
