AUB launches ‘no bill shock’ credit card

MANILA, Philippines - The Asia United Bank (AUB) has unveiled its first credit card product that allows cardholders to choose how, how much, how often, and even when to pay their credit card bill.

The AUB Easy MasterCard offers clients the option to pay monthly, semi-monthly, or weekly as part of total credit card bill management and payment system.

Mags Surtida, head of AUB Credit Cards Business said the credit card is focused particularly to first-time credit card users, and those who just started working.

“It’s responding to the real needs of the ordinary customer – no bill shock, no surprises, and no unwarranted stress when the bill arrives. It’s designed to ensure card payments are within budget,” Surtida added.

Through its first credit card venture, AUB aims to help alleviate fears of credit card ownership and overspending, particularly among lower-wage professionals or individuals.

For instance, cardholders can enjoy the same pre-determined amount due every payment date regardless of their total transaction within a cutoff period and whether they choose to pay monthly, semi-monthly, or weekly.

AUB provides these first-of-a-kind flexibility features, coupled with a low interest rate of 2.95 percent and lifetime rewards for every peso spend.

The AUB Easy MasterCard is also fully loaded with an “All-Ur-Bills” feature that lets cardholders charge utility bills to the card, as well as a secure, convenient online banking experience.

The card is also EMV chip-enabled and comes with MasterCard 3D Secure, another layer of security protection for online transactions.

Since the card bears the MasterCard logo, AUB Easy MasterCard cardholders can take advantage of global coverage and local and international MasterCard promotions.
