(BDOI) recognize that househelps or kasambahays is an integral part of Filipino family, yet earn very modest salaries – often fully allocated to supporting their own families, leaving them with very little savings and no financial protection against uncertainties.
To help our unsung heroes, Manulife and BDOI designed an insurance product that offers comprehensive benefits while keeping premiums affordable.
Proudly called the Kasambahay Plan, this affordable insurance product is available in three packages.
Plan A offer P50,000 for accidental death and dismemberment benefits, P10,000 for death benefits, P5,000 for total and permanent disability benefit, and P5,000 burial benefits. And payment, or premiums, is a mere P285 yearly.
Plan B requires a mere P410 yearly premium and offers P100,000 for accidental death and dismemberment benefits, P20,000 for death benefits, P10,000 for total and permanent disability benefits, and P10,000 burial benefit.
For a P660 annual premium, Plan C offers P200,000 accidental death and dismemberment benefits, P40,000 for death benefits, P20,000 total and permanents disability benefit, and P20,000 burial benefit.
While offered primarily for househelps, the Kasambahay Plan is available to anyone, aged 18 to 65 years old, and in good health.
Upon the purchase of the Kasambahay Plan, a prepaid card will be issued bearing the image of Manulife’s brand ambassador, Richard Yap.
The prepaid card will then be used to enroll the insured. Enrollment to the Kasambahay Plan can be undertaken by simply texting in or calling Manulife’s customer care hotline, as guided by the instructions on the card.
