MANILA, Philippines - Citi Philippines and the Finex Research and Development Foundation Inc. (Finex Foundation) had celebrated the completion of the 9th Citi Junior Bankers Congress (CJBC) recently with a fellowship dinner in honor of its student graduates. Funded by the Citi Foundation, the CJBC is a signature citizenship program of Citi that aims to train and provide job opportunities to the top students of state universities and colleges in the country. The fellowship dinner capped off a successful program that trained nearly 500 low-income students, enrolled over 400 of them in a mentoring program with Finex member executives and placed over 100 students into permanent jobs with Finex member companies. Citi country officer Sanjiv Vohra said that the global financial institution helps shape the future leaders of the banking industry, and that inclusive growth for all sectors through the program offers opportunities for deserving students from top public academic institutions across the country.
“It is a sincere effort to democratize training and development, and make the program accessible to talented public school students nationwide,†Vohra added.
