BDO donates to Sendong victims

MANILA, Philippines - Officers and branch personnel of BDO Unibank Inc. (BDO) joined the nation in extending assistance to victims of typhoon

. Simultaneous relief operations were organized in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan with a total of 7,000 bags of relief goods containing largely foodstuff, water and toiletries. Total amount of donations released for the three provinces reached P3.5 million. For Cagayan de Oro, a total of 4,000 relief bags were distributed in three evacuation centers: Brgy. Macasandig, Balulang and Velez for Iligan City, officers and staff of BDO Iligan del Pilar also volunteered as relief workers to conduct relief distribution for 3,000 affected families of Brgy.Sta. Filomena and Brgy. Ubaldo, Iligan City in coordination with the DSWD office of the local government of Iligan City. In Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental, relief operations were scheduled on Dec. 23 and Dec. 24 with more than 1,500 bags of relief goods distributed to the families in the five affected barangays: Brgy. Batinguel, Brgy. Tabuc-Tubig, Brgy. Junob, Brgy. Matong and Brgy. Bagacay. Two BDO branches (BDO Dumaguete and BDO Robinson’s-Dumaguete) officers and staff assisted as relief workers in the distribution of goods in coordination with DSWD Dumaguete and Negros Oriental.
