MANILA, Philippines - BancNet gave awards of recognition to its member banks recently with the best performance in six areas of operations. BancNet is one of the leading automated teller machine (ATM) operators in the country.
Cited for generating the highest average volume of approved switched transactions from Jan. 1, 2005 to Dec. 31, 2009 were: the Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. (Metrobank), first honors; China Banking Corp., second; and Allied Banking Corp., third.
As of end of 2009, Metrobank had 911 ATMs, China Bank had 398, and Allied Bank 280, all located nationwide.
The top ATMs on the other hand, are those at China Bank’s SM City Fairview Branch (top onsite ATM) and SM City Manila (top offsite ATM), which generated the highest average daily volume of switched transactions from 2005 to 2009.
Awarded for having the highest average transaction completion rate of 99.64 percent over the same five-year period was Philtrust Bank while Citystate Bank was cited for having the highest average rate of host availability at an almost perfect 99.99 percent.
Metrobank was also awarded for posting the highest percentage growth in cardholders using their ATM cards to pay for their purchases.
Philippine Bank of Communications was awarded for having the highest percentage increase in the number of its cardholders using their ATM cards to pay their bills.
