During the 18-day event at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati, Sony Philippines achieved a total of P18 million total sales, far exceeding the companys expectations.
It has maintained its overall sales leadership in eight successive BPI Madness fairs since July 2000.
Sonys product categories during the 29th BPI Madness included FD Trinitron Wega Color TV with the highest sales in a single category, trailing next is personal video which includes Handycam video camera, Cybershots, and Mavica digital still cameras. Other categories were Sony Hi-Fi components, Personal Audio consisting of Walkmans and Radio Cassettes, DVD Decks/Home Theater systems, and Personal Audio/Personal Video accessories.
The BPI Fairs are regarded by the consumer electronics sector as a key indicator of industry sales performance and consumer preference trends in Metro Manila.
