Manila Water, LLDA seal partnership on environment

MANILA, Philippines - East Zone concessionaire Manila Water and the Laguna Lake Development Authority (LLDA) recently sealed its partnership to promote greater public environmental awareness with the latter as one of latest partners of the Toka Toka Environmental Movement of Manila Water, an environmental awareness campaign aimed at reviving the heavily-polluted rivers in the metropolis.

LLDA general manager and presidential adviser for Environmental Protection Secretary Nereus Acosta formalized the partnership through a ceremonial signing of the Toka Toka partnership seal with Manila Water East Zone Business Operation and Corporate Strategic Affairs Group director Ferdinand Dela Cruz  to gain wider support from the public in practising the movement’s for ownable acts which will redound to cleaner waterways: connecting to Manila Water’s sewer network, desludging of septic tanks, segregating and disposal of solid waste properly and supporting community sanitation and wastewater programs.

To highlight the partnership, both agencies recently spearheaded the Toka Toka Freedom Run in Taytay, Rizal which was participated in by thousands of runners from various government agencies and local government units. 

The fun run promotes a society that is not only environmentally aware but free from corruption as well.
