The Quezon City government and the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) are exploring the possibility of putting up a fish bagsakan market in Quezon City.
QC Market Development and Administration Department (MDAD) head Neil Lina said a consultative meeting on the proposed establishment of a BFAR Bagsakan pilot project in Quezon City was held recently.
Lina said the site for the proposed bagsakan is yet to be determined. He assured however that it will be established on a strategically-located area in Quezon City.
It was decided during the meeting that the pilot project needs a task force, which shall be created by Mayor Feliciano Belmonte Jr., to jumpstart the whole thing. The BFAR has been tasked to prepare the draft requesting the Mayor to form the Task Force Bagsakan.
