Titled Patnubay sa Maisan, it was produced by the Biotech Coalition of the Philippines (BCP) and Pioneer Hi-Bred Philippines to elevate farmers’ awareness level and knowledge on hybrid corn production technology.
Limited copies of the video are being distributed free to farmers and selected stakeholders.
Patnubay is a comprehensive video that captures the whole process of hybrid corn families: Bago Magtanim (Before Planting), Araw ng Pagtatanim (During Planting), Pagkatapos Magtanim (After Planting), and Pag-aani at Pag-iimbok (Harvesting and Storing).
It typifies the community programs of Pioneer and BCP that are geared toward helping Filipino farmers maximize their profits from corn farming while helping the government fully develop the country’s agriculture industry.
At present, Pioneer country manager Jet Parma said, of the 2.5 million hectares planted to corn, only 25 percent are hybridized areas.
