The program airs every Sunday at 3:30 to 4 p.m. over DZMM. The 12-week program runs until Oct. 9. It offers a complete module on pampano from identifying the different species, to diseases which the fish is at risk of contracting and their cure, to possible market for the fish. The show will have experts on pampano as resource speakers.
The Fishery School on the Air is now on its fourth year. The program features different marine species every season. The previous years featured tilapia, apahap and lapulapu.
Santeh Feeds and PCAMARD will choose the three most outstanding students at the end of the 12-week course. The honor students will get cash prizes and free feeds courtesy of Santeh. All the student-listeners will also receive certificates after the course. The PCAMRD will monitor the progress and provide technical assistance to the graduates.
Listener-enrollees may register and send their answers to PCAMRD-DOST, Jamboree Rd., Brgy. Timugan, Los Baños, Laguna; or to DZMM, Paaralang Pangisdaan sa Himpapawid, Bago Yan Ah! Mother Ignacia St., Diliman, Quezon City, or text 0917-890-3581.
