MANILA, Philippines - PLDT Global Corp. (PGC), a subsidiary of telco giant Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co. (PLDT), has partnered with Bayad Center to allow overseas Filipinos to make online bills payments.
In a statement, PGC said the partnership would enable Filipinos abroad to manage their bills at home by using a web-based payment facility.
Among the accredited biller companies of Bayad Center are Manila Electric Co. (Meralco), Maynilad Water Services Inc., Visayan Electric Co., Davao Light & Power Co., PLDT, Bayan Telecommunications Inc., Digitel Mobile Philippines, Inc., Smart Communications Inc., Cignal TV Inc., Manila Water Co., Inc., Laguna Water District, and Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG Fund).
“We are relentless in our pursuit of improving the lives of our overseas Filipinos, and this partnership will now allow them to directly and securely settle their typical family bills over the Internet, which is very similar to how they did it before – as if they never left home,” Eric Alberto, PLDT and Smart executive vice president and head of Enterprise, International, and Carrier Business said.
For his part, PGC president Alex Caeg said the partnership with Bayad Center is among the enhancements being made available in the Smart Pinoy Store.
“With the addition of Bayad Center under Smart Pinoy Store, the online portal continues to expand its offerings while cementing its leadership as a one-stop overseas Pinoy retail store,” he said.
The Smart Pinoy Store is a one-stop online shop for gifts to be sent by overseas Filipinos to their loved ones at home.
To pay bills in the Philippines from anywhere around the world, overseas Filipinos simply need to log on to www.smartpinoystore.com.
Online bills payments made until Dec. 31 will enjoy a discounted transaction fee of P10.
Established in 2000, PGC serves as the international sales and marketing arm of the PLDT group.
PGC is involved in providing telecommunications solutions and other relevant consumer services to Filipinos abroad.
