Sun Life Philippines hosts annual Asian Management Meeting

MANILA, Philippines - In celebration of Sun Life Financial’s120th anniversary in the Philippines, the company is holding its annual Asia Management Meeting (AMM) in the Philippines this week.

The AMM will include more than 100 senior executives from the Asian region composed of Hong Kong, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines. Joining the Asian delegates will be members of the Sun Life Financial executive team from Toronto, Canada, led by global president and CEO Dean Connor.

The three-day meeting will discuss global and regional growth strategies and will encourage the sharing of best practices and future plans across countries.

“We have many reasons to celebrate in the Philippines this year,” Connor said, noting Sun Life Financial recently won two major awards: Employer of the Year from the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP), and Asia Life Insurance Company of the Year from the Asia Insurance Industry Awards. “These well-deserved awards are a testament to the dedication of our Philippines team to the country and our customers through the years.”

For his part, Sun Life Asia president Kevin Strain notes Sun Life in the Philippines has contributed significantly to global and regional business. “Sun Life Philippines is our strongest growth engine in Asia.

Its 120 years of consistent prominence is a testament of great leadership, sound financial management and operational excellence,” Strain said.

Strain likewise emphasized the importance of the AMM in building stronger ties among key executives from various Sun Life markets. “Bringing my leadership team here from across Asia is a great chance for us to leverage ideas and importantly shines a strong spotlight on our business here in the Philippines. The theme of our conference is ‘Winning Brighter,’ building on the success we have had growing Asia since becoming a pillar of the company in 2012,” Strain concluded.
