This was announced yesterday by City Mayor Edwin Santiago adding that the Professional and Technical Outsourced Services (PROTOS) will be the first BPO to operate in San Fernando, Pampanga.
The entry of the PROTOS here will open new opportunities and challenges Santiago said.
PROTOS caters to more than 200 companies worldwide as back office support, marketing arm, virtual assistance promotion and branding, positioning and internet optimization for the advancement of their business.
“If all requirements are completed we will operate next month and will be located at the city proper,” said PROTOS chief executive officer Monty G. Hooke in his courtesy call Tuesday with Mayor Santiago.
Hooke also said they are now offering 70 job opportunities in web developing, marketing, web content writing and graphic designing, among others.
“I’ve learned about the quality of students here in the city, particularly in the City College. We are willing to give them opportunity,” he said.
In an interview, Santiago expressed his excitement at this “milestone investment” which he also described as “a move towards inclusive development.”
“Big investments like this usually take place in highly developed areas, this is proof of our (San Fernando) lively economy, he said.
The city holds the title of 2nd Most Competitive LGU and is regarded as 2014 Most Business Friendly City by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
This is one of the challenges for allof us in the education industry. We need to mold the wisdom and character of our children. What we want here is development without sacrificing Fernandino conservative values and traditions, Santiago said.
