MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Postal Corp. (PHLPost) yesterday said that it expects to earn P9.7 million from the new deals it sealed with three government agencies.
In a statement, PHLPost Postmaster General Ma. Josefina dela Cruz announced their three new clients were the Department of Education (DepEd), Supreme Court and the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA).
The three government agencies will utilize the post office for its storage and transportation of supplies.
For DepEd, PHLPost will provide its warehousing and trucking services, while the SCo availed of the trucking, storage and “Pick and Pack” services. Meanwhile, the FDA will employ PHLPost’ logistics services.
“We are thankful of the increasing number of government agencies that have turned to PHLPost as their logistics provider, giving us the opportunity to widen scope of our public service, now that we are assisting them in their logistics requirements,” Postmaster General Dela Cruz said.
Last April, the PHLPost has reinvented its foreign surface mail distribution center warehouse into the first temperature-controlled warehouse for the use of the Department of Health (DOH) as storage for medicine.
PHLPost Assistant Postmaster General for Marketing Luis Carlos had said this arrangement would help both the DOH, as it would prevent spoilage of purchased medicines, and the post office, which would be earning from the lease of their 845-square meter facility.
