MANILA, Philippines - The second Taiwan Excellence campaign was officially launched in the country last July 2. The movement, which was hosted by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (Taitra), featured 77 brands considered leaders in the ICT, transportation and leisure, home and living, and healthcare industries.
The campaign, which will run until December this year, aims to strengthen the presence of quality Taiwan-made products in the country. It also enforces the growing impact of the trade between the two countries.
According to Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) Ambassador Dr. Gary Song-Huuann Lin, the Philippines is one of the emerging economic powers in East Asia. The country serves as Taiwan’s 11th largest trading partner in the world thanks to local consumers’ support to quality but reasonably priced products.
Among the participating partners in the campaign is tech giant and industry leader Acer Philippines. The Taiwan brand, which is known for its notebooks, has been a leading player in the local ICT industry since 2003. The company recently included smartphones to its product offerings last year to tap the ever growing demand in the mobile industry.
Manuel Wong, managing director of Acer Philippines, expressed his gratitude for being part of the campaign. “Each product included in the Taiwan Excellence movement went through a strict screening process so we are very proud to be part of the line-up. It is proof of how much the brand has grown in the country.”
The Acer Aspire V Nitro 17 was one of the gadgets that took centerstage during the product show. The notebook combines top of the line specifications and great design to offer a no compromise performance for both work and play.
Though constantly growing, the notebook industry is a highly competitive one. When asked what sets them apart from competitors, Wong attributed it to their commitment to excellence.
“It is all about your definition of excellence. For us, it is good price paired with superb quality.”
Acer Philippines is also enhancing their after sales service. Early this year, the brand partnered with courier service 2Go to bring their customer service a notch higher. Smartphone and tablet users can now log online to file repair requests before sending the product to Acer through accredited 2Go branches. Once checked and repaired, Acer will send the gadget back to the customer using the same service.
“Good after sales service is very important especially for a hardware company. Problems cannot entirely be avoided so the next step is to provide good product support,” Wong explained.
Technology is now a major part of society. For Taitra, the quality and competitive pricing of Taiwan-made products can provide an outstanding lifestyle for the Philippine consumer.
This is along the lines of Acer’s aim of making people’s lives better with technology. Ever since its inception, the brand has made it its goal to complement lifestyles by providing individuals with tools specially designed for their needs.
