MANILA, Philippines - The Ayala conglomerate has partnered with the Arellano University as part of its aggressive push into the education sector.
In a statement, Ayala Education said the partnership with Arellano is open to all Grade 10 graduates and is an early implementation of the Department of Education’s K to 12 senior high school program.
To be launched on Feb. 24, the LINC@Arellano junior college program will be offered at the 76-year old’s school facility in Pasig.
Ayala Education said it picked Arrellano given the latter’s reputation as one of the progressive and recognized” leaders in the academe.
Arellano is one of the largest universities in the country with over 30,000 students.

Our vision is to provide affordable, world-quality education that can allow every student to achieve his or her full potential,” Ayala Corp. president and COO Fernando Zobel de Ayala said.
The Ayala group’s first foray into education was via its partnership with the UK-based Pearson, the world’s largest education provider. The joint venture involves the establishment of a chain of affordable private high schools to be called Affordable Private Education Center Inc. (APEC).
APEC students will only pay an annual fee of P23,000, inclusive of the use of books and computers. The fees include a one-time admission fee of P4,000 and 10 monthly installments of P1,900.
