MANILA, Philippines - Global technology company Uber is teaming up with LBC Express Inc., the country’s largest cargo and logistics firm, to make gift-giving this holiday season much easier.
From Dec. 15 to Dec. 21, Uber said its partnership with LBC will provide a service that allows customers to deliver gifts with only a tap of a button.
“The magical holiday season is in full swing and it’s the time of the year when you want to maximize face time with your family and loved ones. As we scramble to choose the nicest gifts to give, the idea of delivering these presents through the grindingly slow Metro Manila traffic is the least exciting part of it,” Uber said.
With the partnership, customers will be able to request for a motorcycle-riding LBC courier to pick up and deliver presents to and from any point in Metro Manila through the Uber app.
Users will be charged a flat fee of P169 for every successful delivery.
Uber said allowed shipments for pick up include documents and light parcels, with a combined weight not exceeding five kilos or dimensions of one cubic foot.
