MANILA, Philippines - The peso gained strength against the dollar midday Thursday, climbing to 44.676 from the previous day's 44.765.
Total volume transacted at the Philippine Dealing System amounted to $606.2 million in the morning, higher than the $542.5 million posted in the same period the previous day.
The peso opened on Thursday at 44.7.
