Unilever wins 8 Anvil Awards

MANILA, Philippines - Unilever Philippines, Inc. took home eight trophies in the 49th Anvil Awards held recently at the Grand Ballroom of the Solaire Resort and Casino in Parañaque City.

Unilever’s Sachet Recovery Program received an Anvil Award of Excellence in the PR programs on a sustained basis, social responsibility/responsible citizenship category.

In a span of six months, the program has successfully collected 15 million sachets with 4.7 million being shredded and converted into 44,000 cement pavers and hollow blocks that now form pavements and pathways in 30 public elementary schools.

The program also won an Anvil Award of Merit in the PR programs on a sustained basis, environment category.

Unilever’s 2012 Vaseline Global Handwashing Day also bagged an Anvil Award of Merit in the PR programs on a sustained basis, youth/children’s welfare category.

The program was launched via a televised Global Handwashing Day celebration and nationwide school tours, and in only three months, has reached 500,000 kids, teaching them the proper way of handwashing to prevent diseases.

The Sachet Recovery Program and Vaseline Global Handwashing Day campaigns were implemented with the help of Stratworks, one the country’s leading PR agencies.

Unilever, through the help of its other agencies, also won two Anvil Awards of Excellence for its #TeenWeekPh Launch Campaign and Pond’s White Beauty Day Cream and Pond’s Acne video; and three Anvil Awards of Merit for its Clear Dream Match 2013 and Clear Dream Match II Campaign, and Manifesto.com.ph Campaign Launch.

Considered the “Oscars” of the PR industry, the Anvil Awards is an annual competition held by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines to recognize exceptional PR programs and PR tools implemented in the previous year.
