MANILA, Philippines (Xinhua) - Imported vehicles sold in the Philippines rose by 12 percent on year to 2,534 units in November, local distributors said today.
The Association of Vehicle Importers and Distributors (AVID) said the performance of distributors in November was boosted by a 20-percent increase in the sales of light commercial vehicles.
Sales of passenger cars also increased by 5 percent on year to 1,304 units.
For January to November, AVID said sales of imported cars have already surpassed the number of units sold last year. In the 11- month period, local distributors sold 27,908 units, 6 percent more than the 26,272 units sold in January to November 2012.
