DTI issues SRP list for candles

MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has issued a list of suggested retail prices (SRP) for candles ahead of the observance of All Saints Day.

The DTI’s price guide covers different variants of candles from the country’s major manufacturers.

The SRP for a 20-piece pack of white Liwanag Esperma #3 is P43.75, while the recommended price for a 20-piece pack of white Liwanag Esperma #5  is P60.75.

The prescribed price for a four-piece pack of white Liwanag Esperma #16 is P31.75, while the SRP for the four-piece pack of white Liwanag Esperma #18 is P51.75.

As for the two-piece pack of the larger white Liwanag Esperma #24, the SRP is at P122.75.

The recommended price for the six-piece pack of white or yellow Manila Wax Votive #1 is P69.75, while the six-piece pack of white or yellow Manila Wax Votive #2 has a prescribed price of P59.75.

As for the six-piece pack of white or yellow Manila Wax Votive #3, the DTI is suggesting that it be sold at P49.75.

For the 10-piece pack of white Manila Wax Sperma #2, the recommended price is P44.75

For the 20-piece pack of white Manila Wax Sperma #3, the SRP is at P54.75, while the recommended price for a 20-piece pack of white Manila Wax Sperma #4 is P39.75.

The prescribed price for the four-piece pack of white Manila Wax Sperma #14 is P44.75.

As for the two-piece pack of the white Manila Wax Sperma #16, the DTI has suggested that it be sold at P49.75.

DTI’s Consumer Welfare and Business Regulation Group officer-in-charge Victorio Mario Dimagiba said the department met with candle manufacturers to ensure that the price and supply of candles in the market remain stable.

“There is no price increase for candle products. The price of candle remains the same compared to last year,” he said.

He also said DTI monitoring teams will be regularly checking the price and supply of candles in the market leading up to All Saints Day.

Consumers are advised to check the weight and the price tag of candle products before buying.
