DLSU bags lease contract for 1,400-sqm BGC lot

MANILA, Philippines - The Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) has awarded to De La Salle University  the lease and development of a 1,395 square-meter institutional lot in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig City.

BCDA Asset Disposition Program Committee chairperson  Nena Radoc said in a text message. “The notice of award was sent (to DLSU) early this week.”

“We are set to sign the contract of lease early October,” she said.

The bidding for the property which was offered to educational institutions, was held in July.

DLSU was declared the winning bidder as it was able to meet the minimum acceptable annual lease set for the property.

The minimum acceptable lease for the property amounts to P3.948 million, subject to five percent annual escalation.

As the winning bidder, DLSU is required to pay in advance the annual lease covering the first four years.

The property is the last vacant lot at the institutional area of BGC.

BCDA is mandated to transform former US military bases into alternative productive civilian use.

Apart from the institutional lot awarded to DLSU, the BCDA has also offered for bidding two service areas consisting of two hectares each along the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX).

BCDA said earlier 10 firms have expressed interest for the development and lease of the SCTEX service areas.

Firms which have expressed interest in the two service areas are Sea Oil Phils. Inc.; Inbound Pacific Freeport Inc.; Manila North Tollways Corp.; Sta. Maria Industrial Park, Corp.; FLG Management; Santeh Feeds Corp.; Phoenix Petroleum Phils. Inc.; Facilities Inc.; Klean Fuel Auto LPG Refillers; and Pilipinas Shell Petroleum Corp.

The state-run firm has likewise put on auction the 5.2-hectare lease and development of the Pamayanang Diego Silang Commercial Lots in Barangay Ususan in Taguig.

BCDA said three firms namely Filinvest Land Inc., R-II Builders Inc. and Robinsons Land Corp. have expressed keen interest to develop the property.
