MANILA, Philippines - The Office of the President has named Nora Terrado as new undersecretary for the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) Management Services Group.
Terrado replaces Trade undersecretary Zenaida Maglaya who recently transferred to the department’s Regional Operation and Development Group (RODG).
This, as Trade undersecretary for RODG Merly Cruz retired from government service last month.
Prior to her appointment, Terrado was a recognized leader in the information technology (IT) and business processing management industry in the country.
She has served as president of Headstrong Philippines Inc., a global financial consulting and IT services company.
A certified public accountant, Terrado has also served as financial controller and manager of the regional shared services center for the Southeast Asian operations of Harper Group or Circle International and vice president for finance and administration of Circle Freight and affiliated companies.
She likewise worked as external auditor at the country’s largest professional firm SGV&Co.
As undersecretary of the Management Services Group, Terrado will be involved in the oversight of the DTI’s administrative and support offices.
Offices under the Management Services Group are the General Administrative Service, Financial Management Service, Management Information Service, Human Resource Development and Personnel Service, Office of Operational Planning, and Trade and Industry Information Center.
Terrado will be involved in coming up with industry policies and coordinating as well as monitoring the implementation of the operating plans and programs of the department.
She will also take part in providing information and communication support.
