MANILA, Philippines - Ortigas & Co., one of the oldest property developers in the country, has moved forward with the construction of Viridian, its latest upscale project.
The property developer said it signed an agreement with construction firm D.M. Consunji Inc. (DMCI) for the general architectural and structural works of Viridian in Greenhills, San Juan.
“With DMCI now onboard, we expect the next phase of construction to be in full swing, in time for our turnover in 2016,†said Joey Santos, general manager of the real estate division of Ortigas & Co.
The P4.8-billion Viridian is a 53-story tower that first introduced to the market in the second quarter 2011.
Ortigas & Co. said since the launching, it has enjoyed brisk sales and continues to attract more homeowners.
The tower constitutes the residential side of a P25-billion redevelopment project taking place in the Greenhills Shopping Center, it added.
A unit’s floor area can range from 38-207 square meters with prices at P6 million to P30 million, inclusive of parking.
Ortigas & Co. is the developer behind some popular shopping destinations like Greenhills Shopping Center, Tiendesitas at Frontera Verde, and Estancia at Capitol Commons.
The Ortigases, whose historic roots date back to the 300-year Spanish colonial rule, are among the largest landowners in the country.
