MANILA, Philippines - LINE, a smartphone application which allows users to enjoy free calls and messages to one another, both nationally and internationally, regardless of which mobile network provider they are using, is now in the local market. Launched in June 2011 by NHN Corp., LINE has more than 110 million users worldwide. It has also been ranked no. 1 in 41 countries in the free app category. Continuing this trend, LINE is tapping into this momentum to further expand its service worldwide, especially in the Philippines. In order to enhance the presence of LINE and its family apps in the Philippines, Kang Hyubin (right), director of LINE business office, NHN Corp., said during a press conference that LINE has plans to actively carry out marketing campaigns like partnering with local artists, animation and entertainment companies to release various localized contents such as stickers and official accounts, solely for users in the Philippines. Moreover, LINE intends to outsource fun games through cooperation with game developers in the Philippines.
