Yoshinoya plans 50 stores by 2016

MANILA, Philippines - Fast food chain Yoshinoya is aiming to open 50 stores in the country by 2016 as it seeks to further grow its business, an official said.

“We want to hit 50 stores by 2016,” Yoshinoya Century Pacific Inc. (YCPI) president Timothy Yang told reporters.

For this year, he said the plan is to open three to four stores.

The three new stores to be opened this year will be located in Makati City, Quezon City and Alabang in Muntinlupa City.

At present, Yoshinoya has seven stores which are all company-owned and located in Metro Manila.

“We are open to going out towards the outskirts in Metro Manila,” Yang said.

The expansion plan is part of the fast food chain’s goal of growing its business here.

Yang said the fast food chain has been seeing year-on-year growth in sales since it opened its first store in the country.

“We’re seeing more than double growth in sales,” he said.

Apart from increasing its presence in the country, he said the fastfood chain is continuously trying to offer items on the menu which are affordable to fit the consumers’ budget.
